Using a document that has duplicate content can have serious implications even if you did not plagiarize the content. It is; therefore, important to check your work before submitting it anywhere, be it online or offline. Plagiarism Checker X is a handy program for detecting duplicate content.

When you launch Plagiarism Checker X, it will give you the option to upgrade to the Pro version or continue with the free installation. You may use the free version to try the software before upgrading. The program window will open and another one opens almost immediately, requesting for your email address to continue using it.

The program window features a pane on the left for accessing various functions. Basically, you can search for plagiarism online or perform a side-by-side comparison.

To check for plagiarism online, start by choosing the method that you want to use among large content, paragraphs, and blog or webpage URL. Once you have selected the desired option, paste or load the document to analyze, which will appear in place of the provided sample text.

You may then choose to analyze the content using either Google or Bing, but it is recommended that you use the "Auto" mode. Then click the "Analyze it" button. The free version can only analyze a maximum of 150 words.

Once the analysis is complete, Plagiarism Checker X displays a summary of its findings in a pie chart, with the unique and plagiarized contents marked in green and black respectively. Hovering the cursor on these parts will display the information in a percentage.

Below the chart, you will see the numbers of words plagiarized and sources with similar content. You will also get remarks.

The detailed report will show you the sources with similar content. Double-clicking an item on the "Results" tab will show the similar content.
